D&E to hold campus cleanup day

Both community members and college students will come together to spruce up the Davis and Elkins College Campus Friday.

The college is holding a campus beautification day throughout the day on Friday.

Student and staff crews will be working across campus to clean up, spread mulch and plant flowers, among other tasks.

Administrators said making D&E attractive helps support the area economy and encourage more visitors, too.

“We are a destination, and I hear from my physical plant director, ‘Scott, I’ve not seen this before, where we are a college first and foremost, but we also are a camp and conference center with everything that we have going on,” said Scott Goddard, vice president for student affairs at D&E.

The college will also plant a tree to celebrate Arbor Day as part of Friday’s events.
