CLARKSBURG, W.Va. – A Harrison County church is raising money with hopes of helping to defeat cancer.

The Duff Street United Methodist Church is holding its annual rummage and bake sale during the next few days.

Half of the money raised will go to ‘Relay For Life’ which raises money for cancer research.

Church members say the four-day sale really brings the community together.

“It’s something we started several years ago and it’s just grown and it’s just really important to keep everybody together working and the fellowship of it,” said Duff Street church member, Ireta Kirby. “It’s a lot of hard work but it’s really a lot of fun.  You hate it when you have to go home and go do something else because you don’t want to miss anything down here.”

The rummage sale will be open through Saturday, May 4.
