Alderson Broaddus University has partnered with Bridge Valley Community and Technical College to allow students there to work towards a four-year degree.
Students that earn an associate’s degree can continue their studies with classes in Kanawha County offered by AB.
AB faculty and staff said it’s a great opportunity for the schools and the state.
“We’re actually helping the economy of this state by bringing educational programs to those areas, to where perhaps in some cases such as Logan, there are no four year programs that are available,” said Jim Owston, assistant provost for extended learning at AB.
Owston said the university is also looking to establish similar programs with other community colleges around the state.
