A new Cyber Security undergraduate program has been announced at Alderson Broaddus University during Thursday’s press conference.
The Cyber Security program is one of the few offered in the state and will prepare students for the multi-disciplinary aspects of securing software, networks, web and mobile systems. The program is designed to grow as more students become interested in the digital discipline.
“You hope for several hundred students to be able to come in and build this program we’re also realistic about it. We’re anticipating a few dozen maybe the first year and then build from there into the future. Our program is designed to start off small and build and then we can and add on infrastructure, mainly digital infrastructure,” said College of Science Technology & Mathematics Dean Dr. Ross Brittain.
The Bachelor of Science degree in Cyber Security was the result of collaborative work between the faculty and staff of Alderson Broaddus, Congressman David McKinley, and the University Alliance Advisory Board.
Students can also obtain a Cyber Security Associate’s Degree.
