Fairmont State University’s Gaston Caperton Center in Clarksburg played host to the annual Astronomy Day.
Solar System Ambassadors, representatives from NASA, and volunteers hosted children and family members for a day full of activities. Organizers said the hands-on approach is perfect for kids and educational, too.
“Once some people see the rings of Saturn or something like that, it can grab you and hold your attention, and it’s a great thing to see kids see some of those things for the first time,” said Central Appalachian Astronomy Club Member John Taylor.
The purpose of the event is to communicate the science and excitement of NASA’s space exploration missions and discoveries.
