Elkins Middle School has been placed under a lockdown.
Superintendent Gabriel Devono said that the school was placed under a “code yellow” lockdown at about 9 a.m. Wednesday after the school received threatening phone calls. Devono said a code yellow lockdown is a preliminary caution lockdown.
The school will continue with normal activities while on lockdown, according to Devono.
City and state law enforcement have been investigating the calls, Devono said. The school will remain on lockdown while police are investigating.
