Education

Harrison County Board of Education sat down for their regular meeting Tuesday evening.

An update on school S.A.T. tests, which began this week, was given to the board. Many schools had prefect attendance for the testing.

The board also discussed options for recruiting and retaining bus drivers. Over the next thirty days, they will formulate a plan to combat the growing issue.

Superintendent Dr. Mark Manchin signed a proclamation declaring May 4 Cook Appreciation Day.

Dr. Manchin said, “We appreciate all that our cooks do here in Harrison County. We’re fortunate to have outstanding cooks to provide nutritional meals for our students and over 2 million meals were served last year. That’s amazing.”
