Learning Options Inc. in Clarksburg helps students apply classroom skills outside the school setting all year round.

Learning Options works to promote and expand in-depth study and exploration focused on the interests of students. Learning Options has been located in Harrison County for just one year, but has already attracted students from around the area to take part in its programming.

Today was the last day for its Intro to FIRST LEGO League summer camp.

“Activities like these, it is hard to get the robot to do exactly how you want it because you don’t know much about where the robot is going to go,” said Tobias Fleece, seventh grade student at Bridgeport Middle School.

“A lot of skills are needed for STEM careers, some basic engineering and mathematics skills, things they can take through and further their life and get a career in STEM possibly,” added Calem Sorenson, robotics teacher.

The camp also included a Mosaics lab located in the STEAM learning center at the Harrison County Board of Education.
