The Lewis County School Board is in a special meeting Thursday to discuss the possibility of allowing for three-hour delays.
County officials are discussing the proposal as another option for days of inclement weather.
The proposal would keep the 2-hour delay option but allow for an extra hour if officials deem it necessary.
“so maybe temperatures will rise a little bit warmer, and we feel its safer for the students to go on a three-hour delay, or maybe we are aware that the roads are going to improve in that extra hour, just to allow for student safety and so forth, and still be able to have a partial day of school,” said county school administrator Chris Derico.
The option has been on the table for a previous school board meeting, which was canceled due to inclement weather.
