The Marion County Board of Education held a meeting Wednesday night to discuss a topic that’s been trending all over the nation.
With active shootings happening in schools more frequently than ever before, the Marion County Board of Education brought in experts to discuss ways to keep faculty and students safe.
The Superintendent for Marion County Gary Price said this meeting was held to discuss what type of active shooter training is appropriate and necessary for both faculty and students within Marion county schools.
“We’re going to have individuals that are going to come into our schools and observe those classrooms and make recommendations to us, a prioritized list if you will, about things that need to be done to make each of our schools safer,” Price said.
Price also said these safety procedures are going to start taking place immediately to keep faculty and students as safe as possible in all Marion County schools.
