Marion County BOE met with an area community college to discuss academic advancement

The Marion County Board of Education met with Pierpont Community and Technical College Tuesday afternoon to discuss the importance of a safe and productive learning environment.

The meeting touched on receiving pre-college credits while still in high school and bringing awareness to unknown programs.

“We’re all excited about maybe some new and different things we are going to do, and the whole purpose is to make a smoother transition for students once they graduate to move into a post high school academic training program,” said Superintendent Gary Price.

Price said that both the board of education members and Pierpont officials are excited about what is to come next, and that ultimately they hope every student gravitates toward the opportunities presented in the future.
