Skyview Elementary hosted its 4th annual career day fair

Elementary schools in Monongalia County believe it’s never too early for kids to start thinking about their futures.

Skyview Elementary School holds a career day twice a year in order for the kids to start thinking about future careers.

There were different stations set up for the fourth- and fifth-graders to choose from to learn about the many different jobs within the area, including our own WBOY reporters Ronnell Hunt and Amelia Henderson who were there signing autographs and answering questions from the kids.

The School Counselor Matt Tolliver said this event is put on twice a year in order for the kids to see the amount of opportunities their futures hold.

“The overall goal is to again have awareness. Just to know, oh I didn’t even know that existed or oh I didn’t even know you could do that,” said Tolliver.

Along with our WBOY family, there were also other career stations such as the Morgantown fire department, a veterinarian and various others representing the careers offered within West Virginia.

This career fair has been put on by the elementary for four years. The school has plans to continue this event for the upcoming students in the fall.
