Students at Alderson Broaddus University enjoyed the snowy weather

Classes were canceled Wednesday and students at Alderson Broaddus University were out enjoying the springtime snowy weather.

ABU’s annual Winter Carnival was held and students on campus said they were happy to be out because this could be the last good snow.  Students were treated to hot chocolate and participated is sledding and snow sculpture contests.

“The students seem to be having a lot of fun.  A lot of people have picked up some hot chocolate and a few people are picking up their sleds, so far and more will probably turn out, and it really gets them involved because they are already out of class, and they want to come down, and it’s a really involved campus and really a sense of community.  So, a lot of teams come down, teams and friend groups.  They are having a lot of fun right now,” said Winter Carnival Chair Kyah Draper.

Students also got the chance to tie 50 blankets to donate to the West Virginia Children’s Hospital.
