Students collaborate on educational book to be donated to local Elementary school

A new educational book, written and illustrated by some local students in Harrison County, has just rolled off the printing press.

The book is titled “Lily the Lady Bug Travels the Nifty Fifty,” and tells the story of a friendly insect’s journey to discover something unique about each one of the 50 U.S. states.

Students from Pressley Ridge School worked several weeks on the book, researching facts about each state and drawing some of the most famous landmarks.

Student Jacob Stewart said writing the book with his fellow co-author’s is something they are all proud of.

“It’s something that I got excited about, that was my first time doing it,” Stewart said. “Even back at home, I read to my nieces and nephews, and that would be something that I would want to do for kids in the future.”

The new books are now headed to a good home. Pressley Ridge is donating the first copies of “Lily the Lady Bug” to West Milford Elementary School students.
