Eight counties in West Virginia have been awarded funding through the SBA construction NEEDS project, and Tucker County made the short list.
School administrators have been working closely with the SBA to secure funding for improvements to the Tucker Valley Elementary/Middle School HVAC system. More than $4 million has been awarded to fund the renovation project, and officials say they wouldn’t be able to complete renovations without the SBA’s help.
“We do very well with very little. We don’t have an excess levy in Tucker County. We would not be to keep up with the needs of our buildings if these SBA funds were not available,” said Superintendent Alicia Lambert.
The funding approved for the renovation was the last of three major renovation projects to schools within Tucker County.
