Upshur County parents have homework that’s due

School is back in session in Gilmer, Lewis, and Upshur counties and backpacks are full of homework for parents.

In Upshur County, Tennerton Elementary School students were sent home with a packet school officials hand out annually. Tennerton Elementary Principal Tristen Gray says the packets start the year off with updated information and is a great way to begin communicating with parents.

“We have a close-knit community and our teachers make contact with our parents regularly; our school makes contact with our parents regularly, and we want to make sure that everyone is on the same page with everything that we do, and if we have an updated phone number, an updated address, we’re able to do that,” said Principal Gray.

Each packet included a Title 1 information sheet, a photo release consent form, and most importantly an emergency care information form.
