A presentation was held Tuesday as part of WVU’s inaugural Hazing Prevention Week.
Programs are being presented all week long.
Tuesday, students were given scenarios and they were asked about their responsibility level and what actions they would take in them.
The goal was to initiate bystander intervention when it comes to hazing, sexual assault, binge drinking and other peer pressures.
“Using other unfortunate events from across the country as well in our presentation as a model saying that you know we don’t tolerate this type of behavior at wvu and if this is going on, this is how you navigate it, this is how we end hazing, violence, sexual assault on campus,” Christine Jacobs, prevention specialist.
If any students in our viewing area witness this kind of behavior, they can contact their local Title IX coordinator.
