West Virginia University President Gordon Gee gave his State of the University Address Tuesday.
Gee focused on the importance of higher education in the state and said WVU will lead the way to help students, the state and the nation move forward.
He also touched on three areas that can work together for success.
“Health care, education and prosperity are not three separate issues. They are the three interwoven strands that make up West Virginia’s fabric. Strengthening that fabric is our university’s fundamental purpose. We need to be the weavers for the future,” said Gee.
Gee also mentioned that WVU’s State of Minds campaign raised more than $1.2 billion, exceeding its $1 billion goal.
