BRUCETON MILLS, W.Va. - UPDATE (2/15/2019 4:20 p.m.):
One of the students injured in an accident last week in Preston County has died.
According to State Senator Randy Smith, Brayden Bishoff, 15, died Thursday evening. Smith and his granddaughter, Gracie Wotring, who is a Preston High School student, were in Charleston to promote the sale of t-shirts to support Wotring's classmates.
UPDATE (2/8/2019 1:45 p.m.):
Preston County Sheriff's Deputies have provided an update on the statuses of the 4 people involved in the accident that took place at the intersection of the North Preston Highway and Furfin Road on Wednesday.
According to deputies, two of the occupants have been released from the hospital, while the other two occupants have remained in the hospital.
There is no further information on the condition of these individuals at this time.
ORIGINAL (2/7/2019 12:38 p.m.):
Four people were transported to area hospitals following a vehicle accident in Preston County on Wednesday.
Deputies with the Preston County Sheriff's Department said that they responded to a single vehicle accident at the North Preston Highway and Furfin Roads Intersection on Wednesday. Deputies said that through investigation, it was determined that the vehicle had been traveling north on North Preston Highway and hit a body of standing water on the roadway, lost control, left the roadway and hit a tree.
According to deputies, all four occupants of the vehicle were injured and transported to area hospitals for treatment. Deputies said that due to the ages of the occupants, their names are being withheld at this time.
