German Ambassador to travel to Clarksburg

Friday President Trump announced the U.S. economy grew by 4.1 percent in the second quarter of 2018, marking the fastest economic expansion in nearly four years.

Monday U.S. Rep. David McKinley, R- W.Va. stopped by the WBOY studio to discuss the growing economy here in North Central West Virginia.

Mckinley announced the German Ambassador will travel to Clarksburg August 15th.

“We want him to go back to Germany and talk about the possibilities, what sites could be here, what are the products that we could make here because they use a lot of chemicals there.  They’re big, one of the biggest producers of chemicals in Europe.  But, with the tariffs that have been placed on, on some of the products, why not make them here?  So, that’s a lot what we’re trying to do, is instead of avoiding the tariffs, make the product here,” said
