The Harrison County assistant principal accused of bullying a transgender student is suspended with pay until after the holiday break, said Harrison County Superintendent Dr. Mark Manchin.

Manchin met with Liberty High School Assistant Principal Lee Livengood Tuesday morning regarding the alleged harassed of a transgender sophomore student in a boys bathroom at the school on Nov. 27.

The suspension will allow continued investigation into the alleged incident that occurred in a school bathroom between Livengood and a transgender student, Manchin said.

Manchin said he has spoken to a representative of the ACLU and a meeting will be held after the holiday break on a date yet to be determined.

Livengood is expected to return to work following the holiday break.
