Three community members signed a commitment to help children in need Thursday morning at the courthouse in downtown Clarksburg.
The Court Appointed Special Advocates association, or CASA, is comprised of volunteers who represent abused and neglected children during court proceedings.
On Thursday, new CASA volunteers took an oath before Judge Matish, also sign a commitment to help children and stay truthful in their actions.
The new volunteers joined for many reasons, but one say it was the mission and impact of the CASA program that really
“I was so impressed by, just hearing about the program and the impact that they make on the lives of these children who are going through so difficult times, and the opportunity to make such a positive impact on them that can last for the rest of their life,” said Esther Gorbey, \a newly court appointed special advocate.
