8th Annual Veteran’s Creative Arts Festival held at Louis A. Johnson Medical Center

Veterans artwork was on display Friday at the Louis A. Johnson V.A. Medical Center in Clarksburg.

All types of art entries including paintings, photography and pottery were given a showcase in the 8th annual Veterans Creative Arts Festival.

Winning entries will move on to the national stage of the competition. The event gives veterans an opportunity to share their talents as well as complete part of their therapy.

“It really is like almost a reward for their goal setting for the year,” recreation therapist Michael Andrew said. “So, they’ve worked all year long on this long-term goal and now they’re able to take and kind of reward themselves, see that the hard work paid off.”

If you’d like to look at some of the artwork, you can check it out on the Louis A. Johnson Medical Center’s Facebook page.
