The United Way of Harrison Co. is inching toward its fundraising goal for the year, and thanks to Antero Resources, the United Way is now $20,000 closer to reaching it.
Antero employees and representatives of the United Way gathered in Bridgeport Tuesday for the check presentation.
“The United Way here in Harrison County does so many good things, and the ability for them to find the real people in need, and that’s what we and our employees recognize, is that they can find the people that need the money, that can use the money most beneficially,” Al Schopp, Antero Regional Sr. V.P. said. “We trust that they are giving it to people that need it and they’re vetting these organizations and that’s what’s important to us.”
On Feb. 6, Antero employees also raised around $55,000 for the annual chicken wing eating contest.
