Area Elks Lodge donates to Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center

The Harrison County Elks Lodge gave local veterans the equipment needed for a little rest and relaxation.

Members met with veterans Friday at the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center in Clarksburg.

They presented veterans with several new fishing reels, lures, bobbers and hooks.

The Elks also donated a new PA system for bingo nights and other activities.

“They take them fishing all summer long so we replenished whatever they used up last year so we purchased over $200 of fishing gear. It’s a good activity for them to get out of the hospital and get out into the community to fish,” Flavious Haynes, Elks Trutee.

Haynes said the Elks’ main objective has been taking care of veterans and children throughout the country.
