Despite the rain, some events around the area still were held, including the Associated Businesses of Bridgeport Summer Kick off event.
This was the first year this event has been put on and over 30 businesses were in attendance for the kick-off in order to network with the members of the community.
President of the Associated Businesses of Bridgeport Mark Bonamico said along with local businesses there were also local food trucks and hands-on activities for the kids.
“A lot of the small businesses in Bridgeport don’t get a lot of walk-in traffic, so they have the opportunity to be able to market their businesses in an open atmosphere like this,” said Bonamico.
This three-hour event was held on Main Street in Bridgeport where the streets were closed down in order for the locals to enjoy a free night of entertainment and fun.
The president of the A.B.B says the overall goal of this event was to help local businesses get their names out to the public.
