Bi-County Nutrition celebrated their 45th anniversary of delivering free meals to senior citizens and handicapped residents within the Doddridge County and Harrison County area.
Organization leaders stated that they are thankful for the many years of volunteer service and support, but say that their community work is just beginning.
“The next 45 years is going to be needed more and more each year as our population continues to age there will be a continuing need for this type of organization,” said Boyd Welling, board of directors member.
Harrison County commissioners signed a proclamation making May 24 an official day to remember the older residents of the area.
Last year, Bi-County supplied residents with over 100,000 meals and plan on continuing the program for many years to come.
