Bridgeport City Council discusses yearly upgrades to city

Harrison

Bridgeport City Council met Monday evening to discuss upgrades around the community.

The meeting consisted of different guest speakers, but the main presenter came from the Parks and Recreation Association of Bridgeport where a representative spoke on the upgrades throughout the year the city has endured.

The director of the Bridgeport Parks and Recreation, Joe Shuttleworth, said some of the upgrades discussed were the recreation complex having several upgrades including new LED parking lot lights along with new sod repairs for the athletic fields.

“A lot of our facilities say for instance the Bridgeport pool are getting up in age and we’ve been growing money to replace facilities or upgrade facilities and so what I’m hoping to do is a master plan for each facility that we operate with budget able items that we can do to upgrade, improve, enhance the facilities for our citizens here,” said Shuttleworth.

Shuttleworth also said there are more enhancements in the works for the coming year.
