Bridgeport City Pool celebrates Labor Day with yearly tradition of “Country Roads”

Harrison

The Bridgeport City Pool stayed open through Labor Day.

Lifeguards said that this summer was a great season with good weather that made for busy pool days. Labor Day is one of the busiest pool days, with of school being out and many adults being off work.

The Bridgeport City Pool adjusted to school starting back by closing during the week and staying open only on the weekends the last few weeks.

“It takes five lifeguards. One is usually down with the manager, so six total. It is a tradition that we have done every year that I have been here to play “Country Roads” as the last song of the day,” said Alex Burnside, lifeguard.

This Labor Day was a perfect day to spend time at the pool, with temperatures reaching the 90s.
