Community and business leaders met Wednesday at MVB Bank in Bridgeport to discuss how to better market the region.
The Harrison County Economic Development Corporation held its monthly meeting to upgrade its bylaws and better position the county for economic growth.
The corporation’s executive director said one of the priorities is to market the area’s existing strengths in technology and aviation.
“It’s kind of our hidden secret,” Amy Haberbosch Wilson said. “It’s a jewel that we have that we need to start capitalizing on, that we need to start marketing. We need to be very proud of our area. We have an amazing airport here, and the growth that’s taking place, and the companies that are already located here, working together and really growing North Central West Virginia based on those industries.”
Haberbosch Wilson also said she believes North Central West Virginia is in a position to help give the rest of the state a blueprint for economic success.
