City of Bridgeport host holiday ‘Light Up Night’

On Thursday, the City of Bridgeport and the Associated Businesses hosted the 14th Light Up Night on Main Street. Many vendors and businesses in and around Bridgeport set up along the street giving away free food and hot chocolate.

The city said it’s a way for them to celebrate the beginning of the holiday season with the community and its neighbors.

“It’s great to get people downtown int the not so much the older part of town, but its just good to have that, that I call it the Hallmark feeling that we have down here and like I say its just a way to get the community out, and you get to see family and friends you haven’t gotten to run into for a while,” said Andy Lang, Mayor of the City of Bridgeport.

Mayor Lang also said that the Light Up Night is community event for the whole area and if you missed this year’s event to mark your calendars. Next year’s Light Up Night will be the last Thursday of November.
