As part of its ongoing commitment to communities, Dominion Energy is jump-starting the new year with more than $1 million in Critical Community Needs grants.

Dominion Energy started the day at the Clarksburg Mission and provided the mission with one of its 14 grants.

The mission received more than $13,000 from Dominion Energy to help place homeless individuals in long-term housing options.

Dominion Energy wanted to provide the grants in the new year to help feed, shelter and care for the people of the communities they work in.

“The Dominion Foundation has been our largest annual donor for several years and their continued support is remarkably important to what we do. We have to pay staff, we have to pay utilities, we have to pay for food and all of the things we cover,” Chris Mullett, Clarksburg Mission.

The mission is currently housing 100 individuals most nights of the week.
