CLARKSBURG, W.Va. – On Thursday, Clarksburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center hosted its annual senior prom along with showing honor for the staff with National Skilled Nursing Home Week.
The center said they started the prom several years ago and it became a hit with the residents, and they look forward to hosting annually. All of the residents were decked out in gowns for the ladies, suits for the men. Mary Kay Makeup offered their services for the ladies and staff help with the hairdos. Staff members pitched in and spent their time decorating and setting up so the residents could have a fun time.
“Let’s get back out there in the community and do these things that they enjoy. Just because they’re in a nursing home they still live a joyful life. You know, you only hear the bad, I like to bring the newscast to show them all the good we do,” said Linda Curry, Activities Supervisor at Clarksburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
The theme of the prom was soulfulness allowing the residents to do some soul seeking. Clarksburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center providing a nurturing and safe living environment for its residents.
