Clarksburg Police seeking to fill open officer positions

The Clarksburg City Police is seeking qualified candidates to join the department. The city says it has open officer positions that they are seeking to fill.

 On Saturday, September 8, there will be physical agility test at 10 a.m. at Robert C. Byrd high school.  Certified officers who have been through the state police academy the City of Clarksburg is offering a $5,000 dollar sign on bonus.

“Some of the perks as a patrolman is you take home a cruiser, you have great retirement, and great room for advancement with the city such as you could be an investigator in the Detective Division, you could be on the SWAT Team or things such as that,” said Joseph Matheny, Patrolman for the City of Clarksburg.    

Patrolman Matheny said being a cop is a very prideful job even when dealing with people at their worst. He also says that if your dream is to be a police officer that the City of Clarksburg is a great place to serve.
