Clarksburg Police speak about filling open officer positions

Clarksburg City Council met Thursday evening and spoke about the need to fill vacant officer positions.  

Clarksburg City police is seeking qualified candidates to join the department. On Saturday, September 8, there will be physical fitness test at 10 a.m. at Robert C. Byrd high school.  Certified officers who have been through the state police academy the City of Clarksburg is offering a $5,000 dollar sign on bonus.

“Right now we’re understaffed we’re looking for officers, good candidates. You could be finishing up college in a criminal justice degree or just interested in this line of work, and we would like for you to come out and take the test,” said Sgt. Bill Reed, of Clarksburg Police Department.

Also, Clarksburg Police will be hosting their National Night Out on August 7th, parents can bring their children to interact with officers. Free food, games, and exhibits will be on display for the kids to partake in.
