Dominion Energy made a grant contribution to the United Way of Harrison County on Monday.
Representatives with Dominion Energy presented a check for $10,000 to go toward the “Homes for Harrison” project that works to secure food and housing for those in need, including homeless seniors and veterans.
“They do some great work in our community and work with some wonderful non-profits,” Dominion Energy spokesperson Samantha Norris said. “Today’s grant will be helping a specific group of people in Harrison, our homeless population, going out and finding what their needs are and going out to meet those needs.”
Tina Yoke of the United Way of Harrison County says the non-profit is at around 80 percent of its yearly goal, with just ten days left until the Feb. 28 deadline.
