Exotic animals showcased at Bridgeport expo

Harrison

Local animal lovers lined up outside the Best Western Plus in Bridgeport today to get into the exotic animal expo.

The buy, sell, and trade event featured snakes of all species, lizards, frogs and hedgehogs, among others. Kyle and Mary Rosencrance decided to organize the expo to spread the word about their unique interest with to a wider audience.

“We own our own business. It’s called Rose Exotics. We’ve collectively been keeping exotic animals just personally as a hobby for over 20 years,” said Mary Rosencrance.

The coordinators said they wanted to come up with something fun for the whole family that would be entertaining, but educational.

“You know, this isn’t something you see every day here in this part of the state and I wanted to bring something local. I grew up in the area so I felt like the people here in bridgeport and Harrison County and surrounding counties deserved an awesome show like this,” said Kyle Rosencrance.
