The Harrison County Prevention Partnership held its first meeting of the new year on Friday.
One of the topics on the agenda was the role that drug use plays in domestic problems. An expert from HOPE Incorporated explained how to spot signs of abusive relationships.
“We have found, and people are aware, that dating violence and unhealthy relationships have a big tie towards substance abuse and maybe even neuro-health problems. So, when I talk to students we do cover some topics of substance abuse and prevention but in corelation of how that affects your relationships with friends, with partners, with parents and things like that,” said Carrie Linn of HOPE Inc.
The group also heard from a doctor about the progress of Narcan Distribution in the southern part of the state.
