This week is “National School Choice Week” and Heritage Christian School is celebrating it tomorrow along with more than 20,000 other schools across the nation.
Proponents of school choice say it’s all about allowing parents to choose the right style of education that best fits the needs of each student and raising awareness about all the different choices that parents now have.
“I home-schooled my boys, then they came here to heritage for several years and then they went to public high school,” HSC board member Dana Gladysz said. “So I have personally done all three. And if they have the best education possible to fit their needs, they’re going to be a better citizen and create a better future for all of us.”
Heritage Christian School is holding a celebration of school choice at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday.
Heritage is a private school in Bridgeport that offers K3 through 12th grade education for more than 150 students.
