CLARKSBURG, W.Va. – A pregnancy and parenting help center has opened in downtown Clarksburg.
Life Choice Pregnancy and Family Resource Center is open to any expecting mother or current parents looking for some assistance.
The center provides free educational classes that allow parents to earn points which they can use to get anything from diapers and food to cribs and strollers.
“We have classes all through pregnancy, so with different trimesters that they go through, it kind of lets them know what they might be seeing and how they’re going to be feeling,” director Wendy Cox said. “And then as far as after baby, how to take care of baby through those first couple years and then after that we have classes that actually go up to age 12.”
The center is open on Mondays 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and Tuesday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and is funded through churches and members of the community.
The center also provides free pregnancy tests for mothers who believe they may be pregnant.
There are no income guidelines to utilize the services and classes.
Life Choice is a pro-life organization that provides information on some of the options that expectant mothers face before giving birth.
The center is located on 130 S. 4th St.
