Mountaineer Food Bank and VA Medical Center host food bank for veterans

Harrison

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. – Mountaineer Food Bank held its monthly food distribution for veterans on Friday at Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center.

This happens on the third Friday of every month in Clarksburg and around other parts of
West Virginia on other days.

The food bank distributes about 200,000 pounds of food each week and operates in 48 of the state’s 55 counties.

“We at the food bank have a heart. We have a mission heart, and especially for our veterans. We believe that there should be no hungry children, no hungry seniors, and definitely no hungry veterans,” said veteran’s feeding specialist Vicki Cawthon.
