The North Central West Virginia Airport is expanding in hopes of speeding things up for flyers.
A new passenger holding area is under construction to help ease the load of a busy summer travel season. The expansion will allow seating for an additional 70 to 100 passengers. This is in addition to a new TSA baggage screening process that will automate the process and keep the lines moving.
“This project really stemmed from that growth and starting this summer, we’ll have six flights with Allegiant as well as 14 flights weekly with SkyWest,” deputy airport director Shaun Long said.
Both the TSA and passenger waiting room expansion are expected to be completed by the third week of May.
