CLARKSBURG, W.Va. – The Clarksburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center donated money to four area organizations Thursday afternoon.
The Center handed out checks ranging from $500 to $1,000.
That money comes from the center’s charity foundation parent company, AMFM, which operates 18 facilities within the state.
For organizations like the Bridgeport Little League Challenger Division, the money will go a long way in providing a memorable experience for its athletes.
“For years, there was not a lot for kids with special needs to participate in,” Challenger co-founder Kim Martin said. “So this allows them to get out on the field and just be like any other children and it allows their parents to sit in the stands and cheer them on.”
The Clarksburg Nursing Rehabilitation Center also made donations to Northern Appalachian Teen Challenge, Family Services of Marion and Harrison County and a local VFW chapter.
