The Nutter Fort Volunteer Fire Dept. needs the community’s help to raise money for its biggest fundraiser of the year.
The 9th annual “Ultimate Giveaway” raffle begins Saturday, January 26.
People can purchase as many tickets as they want to win one of 60 different prizes that are worth around $70,000, including a 2019 Jeep Wrangler soft-top and Polaris Ranger side-by-side.
Proceeds from the raffle go toward purchasing some much needed equipment and to fund the fire departments daily-operations.
“This is an extra help to us,” Nutter Fort Fire Chief Jeremy Haddix said. “The money we get from the state, the county and the city, prices of fire service equipment and operations has skyrocketed. We’re not making near what we ought to be making, so we have to make it up ourself.”
Each raffle ticket is $40, but tickets are discounted on Saturday only. Haddix says you can purchase 4 raffle tickets for $100.
The department will be serving biscuits and gravy Saturday morning and hot dogs in the afternoon. Proceeds from that will also go to support the fire department.
Raffle tickets can be purchased Saturday at the station, or online at www.nutterfortfire.com. You can enter to win free raffle tickets by liking and sharing their “Ultimate Giveaway” Facebook post.
The drawing for the prizes will be held on May 11 at the Nathan Goff Armory.
