Pieces of Harrison County educational history is up for sale brick by brick

A piece of educational history was up for sale brick by brick Wednesday at the Bridgeport City garage.

The City of Bridgeport held a sale for the bricks of the old Johnson Elementary. For the cost of $20 you could purchase a commemorative brick, also buyers could also purchase an additional option to have a plaque added for$5.

“My husband went to Johnson Elementary and my two kids currently got to Johnson Elementary. They went to old Johnson Element and now they go to the new Johnson Elementary. So selling bricks and raising money for the school is definitely important to me” said Andrea Kerr, Director of Community and Economic Development.

All the proceeds from the sale will go towards new playground equipment for the students at Johnson Elementary and other areas of need.

For more intonation on purchasing a brick you can contact Andrea Kerr, 304-629-3412 or email at andreakerr07@gmail.com
