Clarksburg bakery Tomaro’s is bringing extra customers in this week with a special holiday item.
Tomaro’s, owned by Janice Brunett and her children, John and Marisa, is selling its popular Easter bread. The bread’s sweet dough is rolled by hand and uses licorice flavored anise. It comes in three shapes, as well as small loaves.
The recipe has been in the Brunett family for decades and uses high quality ingredients.
“I’ve been making it for around 45 to 50 years. My husband is the one who started it. We get our anise straight from Italy. It’s very hard to come by and very very expensive,” said owner Janice Brunett.
The quality of the ingredients coupled with the effort put in to make the bread is what makes it so popular.
“I put a lot of TLC in it,” said Brunett.
Tomaro’s Bakery will be open on Easter Sunday until 1 P.M.
