A major convenience store chain is taking ‘Hunger Action Month’ to make a difference in the communities it serves
Last week, Sheetz announced the launch of its ‘Made-to-Share’ program, a partnership with Feeding America.
The program will provide donations to area food banks in the six states where the company works to help tackle hunger in those areas.
Staff said it’s a great way to help their communities and put its product to good use.
“We looked at our stores and saw that we could do that through donating a lot of our ready-to-eat food and a lot of other items in our stores on a weekly basis to food banks,” said Sheetz’s Nick Ruffner.
Sheetz officials also plans to hold a collection for local food banks wherever it opens a new location.
