This week is National Volunteer Week and Wednesday, dozens of volunteers from the Auxiliary to United Hospital Center were honored at a luncheon at the Bridgeport Conference Center.
More than 200 volunteers spend their time making blankets, stocking supplies and visiting patients throughout the hospital, providing visitors and patients with an additional level of care.
“When it comes to National Volunteer Week, we like to honor them and thank them for what they’ve done and the time they’ve given and the donation that they’ve given to us of their lives,” auxiliary coordinator Denise Steffich.
The auxiliary is always looking for more volunteers and you can contact the hospital to find out how.
