The United Way of Harrison County is preparing for its largest fundraiser of the year.
The organization’s Hot Wing-Eating Contest is set for next week, but there is still time to sign up or sponsor a contestant.
The contest raised $40,000 for the United Way last year and has hopes to exceed that goal this year.
Organizers said what makes this event such a success is how fun the competition is and the atmosphere at Buffalo Wild Wings in Bridgeport.
One of the organizers of the event poses the ultimate question to contestants.
“How many wings can you eat in 8 minutes? We are looking forward to it. It is a way to bring people together too and have fun and also support the 25 local non-profits we fund in Harrison County,” said Brad Riffee, community impact director.
The event is Wednesday, January 24 at 7 p.m. at Buffalo Wild Wings in Bridgeport.
