A West Virginia state trooper received an award for his outstanding service.
Corporal Baron Claypool was honored Tuesday afternoon at the Bridgeport Conference Center.
Claypool received the fourth annual FBI Citizens Academy Alumni Association’s Outstanding Service in Law Enforcement Award.
The alumni association said the award is given to individuals who spend time outside of work within their communities.
“I’ve spent a lot of time with veterans and veteran’s associations, especially honor flight. I volunteer as a guardian for honor flight every year and that’s a very very worthwhile cause. Just something I like to do to give back to our military veteran’s because they so deserve it,” said Claypool.
Claypool said he also spends a lot of time volunteering with his church.
WBOY’s own, Don Graye, the honor of emceeing the award luncheon.
